Importing Tools

Has anybody experienced this while importing operations? The tool numbers and the height and diameter numbers don't match? Also,when you renumber the tools it doesn't renumber offsets?

when i import ops my tool numbers are all over the place i checked them before i imported and were right (T1-T8) now it starts at T4 T5 T6 T2 T7 T1 T8 T3 the tools are in order just not the tool numbers

Let me guess...

 

You recently upgraded to X3 and migrated your settings from the previous version...

 

The migration utility seems to pick and choose which settings to migrate and it can be time consuming to figure out...

 

Check your control definition under Tool, Mill, Tool offset registers and set it to "add to tool", length 0, diameter 0

 

I sure hope migration is improved soon.

I have a fresh install. It seems X3 has the same bugs X2 had when it came out. I am pretty disappointed with the new version. It didn't really improve it kind of went backwards.

What bugs ? It sounds like you just have to tweak some settings.

I am not using X3 yet, but do you have "ignore duplicates" off in the import and "tool numbers sequentially" off in tool settings?

Just a thought.

FWIW, I have none of the tool number problems that you mention here with X2. I haven't installed X3 yet.

The issue that The Chipmaker had was resolved by setting his control def to Add 0 to tool number and diameter.

 

Upon replacing the machine def in his file, his tools numbered properly.
