Video card problems

I have a M4300 Dell Precision and I'm working

with a solid model file in mastercam that is

74,000 kb in size and I'm having all kinds of

computer problems, keeps locking up and display goes blank. What can I do,add more ram and or upgrade my video card. I have 512 MB video card and 2 GB Ram.

try running ramsaver.

Settings/Ramsaver

try delete duplicates to see if there are duplicate entities that don't need to be there

believe it or not:

check and see if you are running any of the logitech software for your mouse / spaceball

I talked with tecj support and I did believe it but it really did work once it was uninstalled

I thought it was the Microsoft Intellipoint mouse drivers that sometimes caused similiar problems not logitech

You don't say what kind of video card you are running??

 

If it is ATI, this could be your problem.

 

Nvidia is recommended.
