okuma mill - probe

Yes we have a way to check do it in our V9 version. You would need to open the probe have it collect the point then report it back or compare it to something as a means of checking what you did. That is all any probe does is check the point you tell it and then report back the captured point and depending on the Macro or how it is done tell you what that difference is. I would look in your book for the manunal programming of the probe. Then from there you could build your Macro statements. A X or Y axis single hit at a known point then another along the same axis would give you 2 points where you could then measure that to see what the angle is and tell you the draft.

What control do you have? Okuma's canned macros for probing are not the greatest, but they claim to be able to run Renishaw Inspection Plus in their controls. The downside to this is that is uses up memory that costs big dollars for the older [non PC-based] controls. If you have a P control I would check to see if Renishaw already has something in the can that you can use.

If you have Inspection Plus Software for your MP-700 probe you can use Macro O9834 to obtain the data you require. Your manual (H-2000-6031) shows this in Section 9 (9-35). You have to run 2 cycles of O9811 to obtain the data for O9834 to use for comparison purposes and obtain the angle information. Look at Example 2 (9-41)

Good Luck and HTH

Inspection Plus is Renishaw's programs designed for use with machine-tool probes. These programs are typically not installed by Okuma, as they have their own "black box" macros. I have been told by the VP of Engineering at The Robert E. Morris Company [our Okuma store] that they have run the Renishaw stuff on the P controls and that theoretically it will work on the E controls but causes memory [$$] problems.
