TOOL CHANGE

Is there a simple way to execute a tool change at a fixed point? I have limited z clearance, and would like to perform all tool changes with my table moved out of the way. I set my home position x&y coordinates to do this but nothing happens. Any ideas other than manually editing the NC code would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tlong,

This is what is in my Fanuc post at the psof line

"%", e

*progno, e

"(PROGRAM NAME - ", progname, ")", e

"(DATE=DD-MM-YY - ", date, " TIME=HH:MM - ", time, ")", e

pbld, n, *smetric, e

pbld, n, *sgcode, *sgplane, "G40", "G49", "G80", *sgabsinc, e

sav_absinc = absinc

if mi1 <= one, #Work coordinate system

[

absinc = one

pfbld, n, sgabsinc, *sg28ref, "Z0.", e

pfbld, n, *sg28ref, "X0.", "Y0.", e

pfbld, n, "G92", *xh, *yh, *zh, e

absinc = sav_absinc

]

It calls the machine to x0y0

Hope this helps

Tlong,

Try using the Ref. Point button instead of Home Pos. setting. In Ref Point you can turn off the approach, turn on retract, and give position in absolute or incremental terms. Do this in last operation of each tool so tool moves to correct location before tool change occurs.
