customising posts

PFE32 editor and many other text editors (include CIMCO Edit) comes in Mastercam installation: Settings --> Configuration --> Start / Exit -- > Editor.

You would use Mastercam interface (under Settings) to edit .control & .mmd files and use one of the text editors to edit the pst file.

If you have a .pst and .psb file, you can only edit the .pst file.

It's a good idea to make backups before editing.

The .pst file is the only one you can edit. The MD and CD are not changeable in an editor. Also the .psb is locked up and you can not access it either.

What do you want change? Do you understand any computer language? Do you have the time to learn how to customize post? Have you printed or read the pdf's? Have you searched the forum and started copying all the stuff people have done to posts to use a learning tool?

+1 to ya John wink.gif

is it hard to customise them?

That depends on the changes that you wish to do ...if you are just changing the output of a simple title block that appears when you post a program then you can easily, as long as you dont delete the "'s around them and insert what you want to appear.

If you are looking to output canned cycles and macros that dont appear in your post then your in for a learning curve.

You will need to sit down and decide what you want your post to do and how to change it will be a discovery in itself wink.gif
