new machine post???

we are recieveing a new 4 axia robo dril in about a week. It has a Fanuc Controller. I hear you guys talking about posts all the time in here. So where do i go to get a good working post for this machine. I have looked under machine type/mill/ list and don't see wot i am looking for.

We do a lot if helical contours around a diameter so the A axis speed in conjunction with X feeds is inportant. I hope that makes sence.

or the free download mpmaster post

from this website would be a good place to start.

You'll probably need to do some customization

to get the code exactly the way you want

it, but either one will get you real close

right out of the box.

At my new place we have half a dozen of 4axis robodrills, but I haven't had a chance to look at their posts yet.

James, anything in particular I need to watch out for as far as the post is concerned?

No, the MPMaster is about 99% there for the Robodrills. Some small tweeks here and there and if you have Tool Breakage Detection, you'll want that in there, pallet changes, etc...

 

The MOST important tweek is immediately after the Z Zero Return before you go back ot G90, you NEED a G49. If you don't do it, you won't make the next Tool Change. You'll get some cryptic Z Axis out of position alarm that will leave you going

Thanks James, they got them robodrills going pretty good so my guess is that the post already has that line in. I'll check it out on Monday just to be sure.

I'm beginning to like a 4 day week schedule...

CNC apps sent me his post. all good except no code is being displayed. It says it has been posted succesfully. The NC editor comes up but is blank. Please help

i am now convinced no code is being generated at all even though it says posted sucessfully. I am able to run the back plot ok before posting. thanks for your help in advance.

Check your 3 planes that are in the options of the tool path

 

Are your construction and tool planes set in the toolpaths to the direct path of the tool .... ie right, left, angled holes (set views) ...your wcs should be set to top and not match these if you are working in the 4th axis
