4 AXIS POST OUTPUTTING NEGATIVE VALUE FOR A AXIS

Ok,

 

My machine will not move to the correct location if an A axis move is put into negative value format. I am trying to get my machien def and post set-up correctly. The post we use is the generic 4 axis post. (almost 100% positive)

I just read on my post that it doesn't support mach def setting in mastercam x. Is there a change I can make to this post without having to set-up a new post?

Have you set the A axis for continuous positioning in the A axis in machine def?

Fadal 4th axis work differently from other 4th axis. A-90. will go to +90 degrees but will go the long way around (the minus _direction_)

To move -90 degrees, command A-270. That will move to absolute 270 degrees in the minus direction.

Not too good.

If you are doing continuous X,A interpolation, the best bet is Fadal's Y axis wrapping. Refer to the Fadal user manual for details.

Yeah we firued this out the hard way a while back. What we are having to do is hand edit our posted programs to get all A axis rotations to a positve number.

 

The post I have doesn't support Mastercam X machine definitions. I was just looking to see if anybody knew what I could change on my current post. Or if it's even possible.

 

Basically I need to get away from hand editing my nc files.

Have your dealer contact In-House they have a very nice rock solid MPMASTER post for the Fadal.

also grav you can program in incremental mode and your fadal A axis will move in the correct direction +/-.

For X3 its in the .mmd file discription indexer axis rotation CW.
