fadal 88hs question

this control is set to overwrite plunge feed rate.

any advice where to change this setting?

I ran Fadals for a lot of years and never heard of such a thing.

 

What makes you think the control is doing this?

 

All control parameters are accessed by typing "SETP" at the command line.

I'm with Thad on this one. I never heard of it either......

The only thing close is M48 which overrides the speed and feed pots on the panel and M49 which cancels override. Otherwise dunno.

hmmm, this machine is plunging @ 50% of my surface high speed core settings.

it could be a programmer error ,the control was my first guess.

Many times fadals do not have enough power to get up to the programmed feedrate. So if you are plunging at F100. and seeing F50. it is most likely due to the fact that the machine does not have enough power to plunge that fast into the material you are cutting. Try the same plunge rate cutting air and see if it goes to your programmed feed rate.

I would think the machine would alarm if it didn't have the ball$ to run your feedrate [i.e. the control is saying "I'm at Z-1." and the encoder is saying "no, you ain't"]

You would think but I have seen the actual feedrate not match the programmed feed rate on fadals before during heavy milling and drilling operations.
