new mori seiki nl2500

Company bought this new machine, any help will be highly appreciated

It has the msx-850 111 control.

Cnc Lathe world is all new for me. Training is coming soon but I am open

For all tips and suggestions from good people like you .

Ask away. We don't have any 2500 but we have 3 NL-3000 machines and love them. Very rigid and repeatable, accurate and precise. One is just a two axis lathe, another has live tooling, and the last has live tooling with Y-axis as well. The Chip Blaster HPC pump that you can get will make loads of difference in drilling, turning, boring, or basically anything that you do.

We have an NL2000, but we program it with Esprit.

ESPRIT?? Speaking of Esprit I see that the new MAPPS IV for Mori Seiki will come with Esprit, a true full keyboard and a nice little pull out table for your mouse all at the control. Pretty nifty huh?

this machine did not come with ESPRIT so Mastercam has to be the one.

I run our Mori NL1500SY/500 and love it. An engineer asked me yesterday when I was doing a complex part "is there anything this thing can't do" and I said I haven't found it yet. Just a word of advice, learn to read code and if you make any edits to a program make sure you double check yourself and step it through in single-block while watching the machining and reading the next lines of code on the screen.

MAPPS IV is very nice, we got MAPPS III on ours and no ESPRIT.
