New Crash import 2-d geometry

I Merged/imported a 2-d iges file - 20 or so circles and rectangle

 

That is all, I wish I saved prior to it but how was I to know??

 

Any body else see this? This happened twice today

Crash report sent in for one of them.

Now 3 times,

 

one more try then I will reboot

for the 5th time today to see if that helps.

 

this is a standard mounting pattern

 

I bring merge in my generic mounting pattern for every job for each size mold base

 

just tryed it again

 

Now 4 times

Now I cant get it to work, gonna reboot.

Seriously, I thought you would know this for sure by now.

 

When was the last time you formatted the hard drive and started over? This may help. I find X4 to be quite stable on my system. I can understand your frustration, but what is going on?

No kidding, I should a known, but I have ONLY

been getting toolpath issues till now.

 

I just merge a contour in prior to this and that one

worked. Hoping to try two in a row.

 

This P.C. was formatted maybe 3-1/2 months ago.

 

Didn't lose much (10 min). Lost more trying to restart

MC and bring in the file without rebooting.

On a serious note.

 

Rick, have you tested or swapped out your system memory sticks?

 

I've had some really strange things happen that ended up being caused by bad memory.

 

In a couple cases the bad memory wasn't even identified by memtest86/64 yet swapping it out with known good ram solved the problems.

On both my P.Cs?? at different locations??

All my other softwares run fine.

Doesn't make sense.

 

I have been having a really good day till now.

 

I could just buy a new P.C. this one 'is' 8 months

old.

Rick.. I'm betting you take your files back and forth between home and work.. alot..

 

a wild idea...

 

make sure your temp file has the same path

on both machines..

 

suppose you're using

C:mcbak at home

and

C:mcxbak at work

 

maybe a toolpath done at home crashes cause

cause it can't find C:mcbak when you

try to edit it at work??

Yes I do, and I have only had this problem in X4 MU1. <------ ONLY. X4 crashed for all together

different and less reasons.

 

Nope, there were identical default until you told

me to try using C:/TEMP.

 

Thus they were identical then too.

 

right now like I said previously, I am using a

config file that a tech at In-house has on his P.C.

and now they are both set to the default windows.

 

For what ever reason I am having success now and I don't care why, so long as it stays that way.

 

If i only lose 3 hours a day now in crashes.I have improve 2X.
