getting ready to upgrade to v9

when i do will this over write v8.1 files or posts and will i still be able to run v8.1 if i need to while i get accoustome to v9. i have only been running mc for about a year and am still learning some of the stuff on v8.1

I just upgraded to v9 myself. It will install to a different folder (mc9) so you'll have the 2 different version installed separately. Actually, I have 7, 8 and 9. You will need to run the updatePST9 chook to update your posts. You'll also have to update your tool and operations libraries.

 

At the end of the install (before it prompts to reboot), you will be asked if you want to use your v8 settings. I said yes, but it didn't seem to work. I must've done something wrong because I had to change my settings myself.

Randy as tad had stated, When upgrading it will load it in its own dir.

During the install it checks for a prior version.

Once it finds it will ask you if you want to update the post to the V9 along with your prior config from V8.

Oh it even asks about tools and the material list.

The switch from V8 to V9 was pretty easy. You already know that 8 will still work, so go ahead. Like I said the curve from 8 to 9 is not that bad
