How many times a day are you doing Ram Saver??

While it appears X4 MU2 is more stable, there are just a ton of little things that are wrong and make using the version quite frustrating at times.

Ram Saver

Screen Regenerate Display list

Tool Tip bug

There are just so many little things wrong, that with a product as mature as X4 "should" be, it just really hard for the end user.

Sure, it works, I can get the job done but it seems like we're fighting the software issues more and more instead of less and less.

I use Ramsaver 25 times a day And I have an 8 gig Video card!!!!

As soon as my model starts jumping off the screen

(Like in X1)when I "let go of a dynamic rotate

I have to do a Ramsaver to stop it for about 25 more views before the whole process repeats itself.

CC cleaner doesn't help

A reboot doesn't help

The more operations I add, the more WCS 's

The worse it gets.

Like a handful of guys here say.

"Hard to get any work done going through this process day in and day out"

I would go back to X3 but it has the Transform

Won't backplot or verify Bug.

Notice in the 1st 2 shots the Screen Statistics. The numbers change but the things on the screen only change a little bit. Now after I run Screen saver it looks like it suppose too in screen shot 3. I have my undo turned down to 10 mb does not help. I have do not save bit map does not help.

I've never used ram saver or the Regen Display List. I use clear colors quite often as of last month due to video (driver ?) issues leaving ghosted entities.

As for the Solid vs Surfaces issues and lag are concerned, both seem to work equally well for me, but surfaces offer more control with color masking and when selecting small surfaces, it's easier to see what you've grabbed. To help keep calc times down, I select only what I need to machine regardless of boundaries, as opposed to windowing the whole part, and use minimal check surfaces as well. Calculate with a large step over to see what happens, then tweak the path. It stinks when plugging in a fine step over then having to wait wait wait, only to realize you have a bad lead in or missed a surface. Having a button to stop the calculation process would be a good feature.
