Stick fonts

I am wondering where I can get more "stick" type fonts, similar to the 3rd example in the image below.

I can't remember how. But you've already made the font, you should be able to save it and use it as if it was a normal Mastercam font. If you check the fonts for Mastercam, they are an mcx file. You could even modify the ones that are in Mastercam now.

If you have software that has the normal font.

Here is is what I did.

 

Copy all the default fonts from MC for back up

purposes, create all the desired numbers and letters

in the other software, save as .igs. import them in to MC.

 

Then save as each letter appropriately to the folder

the the fonts are stored in as a .mcx file.

Doyleg, I see that approach, it will create the character but it does not let you use the Drafting Options tab.

Under the "Create Letters" window I would like to be able to use the "Drafting Options" tab to be able to position all of the characters to the center of an object. It seems that option is only available when you choose a drafting font not when a MCX font is selected.

You can import and use any True Type Font that windows can use. Find one you are happy with and run with that.

The handful of windows fonts I have seen are pocket type and not stick type.

Sent that enhancement in a long time ago.

I believe i put it on the enhancement forum also.

I am constantly laying out cavity ID numbers for jobs I do. These are anywhere from .06 to .100 high, point being is that a "1" from MC starts looking like a blob when it is cut with a .015 wide cutter, it is more legible if it is simply a vertical line. ie "|"

I could probably sell the boss on the "3"

but the 6 and 9 are extremely butt-ugly

 

I have a pattern of all numbers that I currently import and manually move around and position into each cavity.... extremely time consuming, even worse when they want to move the numbers to the other half of the tool or resize the numbers.

Using the Drafting options gives you the "Center" and "half" option. which no matter how many characters you have will position it correctly. Using MCX fonts turns off the drafting options and then you only have the ability to position from first character.
