Question about Meldas 500 control.

We have a Mitsubishi Meldas 500 control attached to our OKK VMC. Our operator informed me the other day that this control does not have the ability to search through a program (say if you wanted to find the next tool change). Is this true? I don't like to question the guy but I just find this hard to believe.

Without knowing how old it is I would say no it wont. In edit you can search the L # N # and start running program from that point. You cant search H5 or D5 ex. like you can on a HAAS for ex. But I am running 20+ year old OKKs. Maybe they are better controls nowadays. The owner is hooked on HAAS.

I use to run a OKK with a Meldas control on it and if I remember right it's one of the soft keys you need to arrow to the right and it's at the bottom.

Thanks guys, we did find a way to do it in edit but we can't restart from there. You have to exit edit then search for the block number and start from there.

Search is the ticket. Im getting so used to these HAASs I forgot about search DAAH
