Performance Increase between 9.1 and X3?

So, my client has versions 9.1, as well as X3 and the lead programmer with the FX 580 doesn't seem to care for X3... Nonetheless, he seems to be having some glitchy issues since installing the new card and he feels the performance has taken a bit of a hit. I did it from a comparable setup to what he had prior the GC upgrade, and the difference is night and day. Either way, I'm wondering what kind of performance increase he can expect to see from utilizing X3 over 9.1.

TIA.

disable all Windows eyecandy

make sure you have the latest video

drivers installed..

At my shop, my boss has been a die

hard V9 guy for years, but he's finally

switched to X4... V9 just could not run the

files... it was a day long crash fest..

After loosing half a days work to the dreaded

V9 "0 byte" crash he moved over to X4.

Once I showed him a 3+2 5axis high speed rest

rough toolpath using a 40meg STL file as stock

V9 got kicked to the curb in a heartbeat. biggrin.gif

Watch you step, as your conduct has been reported to the grammar police as well. biggrin.gif

If you do surfacing you will see more options like all the HST paths, Also the crunching speed of X3 next to V9 is Huge from my view.

If you use the WCS it works much better then in V9.

The ease of drawing is better and much easier.

No more Done,Done , Do It. You will see thinks in drawing as a preview and not second guess them.

Just a few thoughts.
