O/T 3D model of golf cart

I found a 3d polygon mesh file that I think will work on viewpoint site.... but how do I convert to surfaces that I can edit and add additional geometry to.. also if I download it the cost is $400.00....OUCH hate to get it and not be able to do what I need.

Another option is to digitize a plastic model that is already made as I will be stretching and scaling it to get the dimentions I need.

Anyone know of a plastic model company that makes a model of a "standard 4 wheeled golf cart"

Eric...

Why not look at pictures of Golf carts and draw your own. They have pretty basic shapes that are not hard to wireframe and then surface, or, better yet, Solids. Either way is a good exercize and it's always a good idea to build something yourself, keeps you sharp. Think about this as well, I would think that someone could design a thermoforming core for $400.00. So when you get the STL file or whatever format you find, you still face an amount of work with the geometry, how much is that worth? Toolpath creation would also benefit since you could "design in" parting and trimming lines and other elements that you need. Anyways, you get my point, doing it themselves never did no-one no harm.

Cheers...

Thanks Pactec

But this is for a point of sale display and has to resemble a actual brand of golf cart (not any set brand but one of the "name brand" ones)

I have access to some that I can take pictures of and use a software package called PhotoModeler to create a 3D surface model... But I am hoping that someone has already done this. And is willing to share or Sell for a reasonable amount.
