I have a PIII 500mhz a vodoo 3500 16mg video card, and 256mg memory. I am running 98SE. I have mastercam 8.1.1.I have not had to work at home for a little while now but i needed to program a part tonight and it started bugging up tonight. It is happening on all the files i try open and it only happens after i try to backplot. I hope you can help. It is frustrating to have to refresh the screen manually everytime you do something. It will not even high light the entities i pick.

The opengl is active anytime the shading is active. The opengl is also active anytime the button is turned on in screen configure.

I had similar and worse problems using the video card you had on a previous computer. Setting the hardware acceleration to none helped a bit but still not good. I tried all these suggestions and more but was never happy. Good luck finding a driver for it. I beleive the company went out of biz or was bought out. I feel your pain, good luck.

bob23168,

What I had intended to say is replace the Voodoo card with one that has OpenGL drivers. Mcam is an OpenGL application and needs a video card with OpenGL drivers. VooDoo cards were known for gaming and other entertainment purposes but not OpenGL applications, that's why the video is acting strangely. Video cards using the Nvidia GeForce chipset have been known to run Mcam well. Avoid the LEAST expensive cards but all others using the GeForce (except an MX 200) should do well. Also avoid ALL ATI video cards. HTH biggrin.gif
