Hello Hans

I teach at a small high school and I share the same concerns that you do with the software. I agree with the new file extenstion-it sucks. We have had NUMEROUS problems with the software and setting up hasps, liitations on some and not others, incorrect codes, hasps timing out when they are not supposed to, etc, etc, etc. I know that we don't count much in the big picture of industry in regards to profit but it would be nice to be able to teach a class full of students without the problmes mentioned above cropping up in he middle of the class, I would absoultely love to have cnc software come into the shop and deal with the problems that crop up due to security concerns.

Mike:

I don't know who your dealer is, but that's the guy you need to get involved in helping you solve your issues.

Don't sell your importance in the larger scheme of things short. Single seats of MasterCAM for schools are inexpensive compared to industrial sets, but a school with a lab of MasterCAM pays about as much as a smallish industrial shop does. They they deserve the same level of support.

I would like to thank CNC Software, Inc. ( Gary Hargreaves, Will Slota and others I can't recall their names) for their prompt action in resolving the .emcx/.mcx file format issue for our educational customer Universiti Kuala Lumpur. The lecturers are currently successfully running lab exams with MAstercam X for their students. smile.gif

Sorry about the confusion on our side.
