Time did not allow me to do this for x-mas.

I am looking to make it early in the new year and

have it for valentines day now.

 

Dan designed a great one also

 

Is it stl and or surfs?

 

Wood you use Mahogany or Black walnut?

or other? It will be stained and urethaned.

the walnut will be nice. use a lite colored stain with it. same for mahogany. i have been having good luck with POPLAR as of late. it is easy to machine, sand and stains very nice with a nice cherry color. see below pic. the original one i did was poplar with dark stain. this one is with cherry.

The more files the better my options

 

I like how pronounced your first pic with

the thicker limbs. Wouldn't mind that one in

aluminum, polished up and lacquered.

 

Here is a pic of what I got done with Dans turtle

file. As soon as I get the wood I am ready to

make it.

That looks killer Rick! The border really helps, no matter witch way you go. I agree with trevor about the wood, with a darker border like you show. Probable depends on what kind of furniture You have.

I am going to use both. I want to make a few of them

 

I might even do a two sided one to twirl in the wind

with yours and Trevors on each side.

 

The border color is different because of the surface

color. I will be using the same stain for the whole

thing, Golden Pecan'.

 

Lets just hope I can geter done for valentines day.
