Organizing color pallette

Is there any way to organize the color pallette to the way it was in V6, where the colors were laid out from dark to light? I often need to select a shade that is just a little lighter or darker than the one I might be using, and I have to hunt around the pallette to find the correct one.

 

And while I'm on the subject, when the programmers decided to change the pallette from organized to random, what were they thinking? I just can't find any logic to this change.

There was a c-hook for V8 that would give you the old V7 colour pallette.

 

The reason they changed it was so we could use Orange, there was no Orange before, Orange rocks.

To borrow a solution from Bullines,

 

Simple fix:

 

1. Using IE, copy all of the code.

2. Paste it into Word

3. Copy it from Word and paste it into Notepad.

Could someone put a picture of what V6 looks like? Is is the same as V7? If it is there is a CHook that will do it for you.

Thanks for that. As Zero pointed out, the cut and paste made a mess of it (lost all formatting), but I was able to fix it. I then saved it as Mill91.cfg, so that I can get orange if I want it by reverting to the standard config file.

 

So why can't you have orange and a logically laid-out pallette?

 

Oops! Just posted and caught the Word trick. I'll try that next time.

Agreed, that is much better... except I lose the whole first column as black, and re-mapping the colors changed most of my system colors... That baby-poop green back-ground has to go.
