  1. I am trying to find a router shop that can handle some very long workpieces. The longest of these is 26'! From what I know of the project so far, the pieces shouldn't be very complex, but the size is obviously a huge issue. Any help would be much appreciated.
  2. Intersting idea. Unfortunately, where I live it's hard to get a dealer to come out for a house call. I'm about 6 hours north of San Francisco, and there are no dealers up here.
  3. I have a customer that I do a lot of 3D programming for. Most of this company's stuff is fairly simple, semi-organic forms and I can draw it pretty easily. I am now looking at a project for them that might be better to have scanned than to draw from scratch. There is no one locally who has the equipment, so I am trying to find a contact, or at least find some information on what to look for. The piece is about the size of a pint glass, and shouldn't require too much resolution. Any help that anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  4. Je suis un beignet de gelée. (Franck, is that correct?)
  5. Franck, would you believe we acutally were taught that in class? It was in our text book!
  6. Ce qu'il est laid, ce bebe! Eh, doucement! C'est moi! I was too late to chime in on the lettering problem, but wanted to demonstrate that I took French in Junior High School. Obviously, I didn't learn much, 'cuz that's all I remember.
  7. Acupulco safety tip #1: Always be sure to check the depth of the water before diving from the local cliffs.
  8. A-ron, are you implying that Clinton was anything less than a stellar example of a perfect, flawless, and infallible human being? I suppose next you're gonna try to tell me that he lied to the American people while waggling his finger at them. Heavens! My perfect little delusional world is crumbling!
  9. I think it is wonderful how someone can make up a little fable to illustrate their own personal beliefs and we all accept it as establishing some fundamental truth.
  10. Jack, here's a little variation: Lovelace - Mr. President, Mr. President! Bush – "Yes Mark, what is it this time?" Lovelace – "Is it true Mr. President, that the CIA regularly uses G02 for a clockwise assault?" Bush (whispering to Cheney) "That guys a real a$$hole." Cheney (to Lovelace) - "Go F@#& yourself!"
  11. So now I guess I'm banished to the back of the press room, never to get called on again?
  12. CHER can you believe people still pay to see her?!?! My 10 year old daughter likes Cher. Go figure. Yeah, I can't imagine paying money to see her. But then again, I really can't imagine paying money to be dropped from 200 feet up!
  13. Is the Brickyard 400 really better attended than the Indy 500? I had always thought that the 500 had the highest combined attendance and viewership of any sporting event. Either way, I'd love to go there someday. I used to go to Laguna Seca in the summers, but I haven't been there for too many years.
  14. What exactly does un-American mean? From my experiences on this Forum, I'd say it apparently means anyone who is a free-thinker and puts their allegiance to their country and the constitution above their allegiance to the President. Of course, I know you're all ready with that funny little 'flame thrower' icon, or perhaps the guy paddling the other guy on the head.
  15. It is tremendously sad to read the names of those who have died in action. Whatever one's belief on the validity of the war, I would hope that no one would use the names nor invoke the memory of the fallen for argument or political gain. The dead can not speak for themselves, and it would be terribly crass for anyone to presume to speak for them. They gave their lives in war. Let them rest in peace.
  16. How much you wanna bet that we don't agree on who that 1% is?
  17. No, Mark, it really does mean a jelly donut. It is not slang. Well, I guess that's what I get for not using a smiley face to show when I'm joking. Perhaps if my joke had included that most critical element, humor, it might have been more readily recognizable as such. But what do I know? After all, I'm a liberal, and we all know liberals have no sense of humor, right? (note smiley face to indicate that I'm joking this time)
  18. The 'jelly doughnut' thing was slang. Don't you know what it means? It's like, "Dude, I'm a F&%$in' doughnut, man!" The best description I've heard of John Kerry is that he looks like Treebeard from Lord of the Rings.
  19. Personally I'd prefer people to dump the BS, dump the Rhetoric and speak about things of substance. Well, now you're simply asking too much! If politicians dropped the BS and the rhetoric, they'd have nothing left to say!
  20. Don't worry, guys, we'll all get a chance to hear equally rehearsed, simplistic, and inane crap from the Republicans in a few weeks. Besides, when it comes to "villify(ing) your opponent whilst making yourself seem angelic", no one does it like the conservatives. Newt Gingrich actually codified this in a 1994 memo to Republican lawmakers and activists, titled "Language: A Key Mechanism of Control". This has been the MO of the Republican party and it's media wing (Fox, talk radio, etc) ever since. So watch where you're pointing that finger.
  21. You say that like it's not common knowledge. I don't think that anyone was surprised to hear what Newt thought of Hillary. This was not news. The only thing that the media was interested in was that his sweet old mom had said 'the 'B' word.' Similarly, what has made Heinz-Kerry's comment 'news' is the fact that she said 'shove it.' The context of her statement and her denial of having said what she said is totally secondary to the media.
  22. i just want to know if elected will they set the offshore pace by paying their oversea workers what they would americans????? Unfortunately, I don't foresee a big difference on this issue, regardless of who gets elected.
  23. she's using a little oil Nah, he's just riding in San Francisco on a summer day.
  24. So, is this any better, worse, or different from Cheney saying "Go F&@% yourself!" to Patrick Leahy? Or from George Bush saying of a reporter "That guy's a real A$$hole"? Or how 'bout Newt Gingrich's mom breaking the shocking news that 'Newtie' thinks Hillary's "a bitch"? No matter which party you're talking about, we're a long way from Thomas Jefferson or Daniel Webster. BTW, I don't get the connection between the Ketchup Lady pulling a kid's thumb out of his mouth and terrorists wanting to attack the US. Seems like a bit of a reach.
