X5 ... File ... New

I have a question ... sometimes, when I select FILE from the drop down menu, the cursor passes over NEW and then I am dead ... except, I get a change to save and not to save, but no way to cancel ...

 

What I would like to do is move NEW to a different location in the menu, for example OPEN, then NEW ... at least, I can cancel the OPEN command ...

 

Does anyone know how to do this?

There's no way to edit the menu's, but whatever you are going into the file menu for you can create a toolbar that has those functions on it so you don't have to go to the menu. I've always thought they should have a cancel option when saving or hitting new.

What other Windows program have you ever seen that has a *cancel* on the File-Save or File-New ???

 

As previously mentioned -> There's no way to edit the menus.

But... I can auto remove the File-NEW menu item when Mastercam starts up with a *special* CHook.

If this really bothers you....

I have a CHook that removes the File-New menu item automagically when Mastercam (X5 only) starts up.

All you need to do is drop 2 files into the \CHooks folder, nothing else!.
