The E value that is the rounding radius, what does that mean? Like my finish value is .004 is that the error that it can allow? And what should the finish, medium, and rough be set at?

First, you must understand what the "E" value does. It is an allowable error that the controller uses to slow down into corners. Set it to E0.0 and it will force sharp corners. Set E0.030 and it will use that tolerance to round into and through corners so you will get as much as .030" errors in corners.

The rule is this, set it as small as you can without actually being able to feel the machine hesitating in corners and as big as you can to hold tolerance on your part.

The best example is when you program a complex surface with a small "E" value (say E.001) and use a high feedrate, you will actually feel the machine vibrating or hesitating every time it enters a corner because it is changing directions abruptly. Open it up to E.025 and the vibrations/hesitations will go away... but your error will be greater.

There is no set formula, just use your common sense.
