3Dconnexion space navigator settings

Hi all,

 

I have a 3Dconnexion space navigator and can't seem to get the same performance in Mcam X5 that I can in SolidWorks or Esprit. In the other programs listed it is a smooth fluid motion in multiple axis. In Mastercam it only does one axis of movement at a time. Not sure if I'm missing some sort of setting or this is just how it works in Mcam.

i dont have any of those problems with mine....inventor, MC, NC plot smooth as silk

do you have a updated driver

dumb question but do you have support 3D connexion tick box ticked on in config

First go to the Start/Exit page of System Config and make sure

"Enable 3D Connexion Device" is checked.

If that doesn't help launch the 3DWare applet

for Mastercam and check your settings.

I think you'll find its locked in Dominant Axis.

Your Space Navigator should drive X5 as good or better

than SolidWorks.. If it doesn't, something is wrong.

If you installed X5 after you installed the Space Navigator

it might help to rerun the the 3D Connexion driver installation.

There are new ones out as of 7/7/11 too, and it never hurts

to upgrade to the latest drivers

The dominant check did the trick. Weird that it worked fine in Solidworks but not in Mcam.
