CAn not open Solid Works File

I have Solid Works(Premium X64 Edition) and Current maintenance so it updates all the time.

 

Recently MC will not open solid works files customer or ones I create.

I get this error.

 

"cannot find Parasolid data in Solidworks file.

 

Is this because MC need to update its solid works translator?

Do they need to write a x64 bit direct translator?

 

Any help will be greatly appreciated

when I check the about in solid works it says it is 2011 sp1 still.

 

Should the solidworks updater update major releases to 2012?

Thanks for the link but I have tried several times and it still not working for me.

It does say that the 'registry operation completed sucessfully'

 

The only difference in the link is I have to pick program files (x86) not just

program files??

 

I have tried unregistering and closing the applet and then opening the apllet an

then registering again with no success.

 

Is a re boot required?

I run into that every once in a while. Mostly with assembly's. have no clue why. our engineering dept uses SW2011 and I import to MC 64 bit. single solids always come in.

Can X5 open a SW 2012 file at this point? Maybe they are 2012 files.

No they are 2011 files. I went into an older customer data folder and it will not open

a 2011 file from in there either.

 

Its got to have something to do with the x64 bit

 

emailed [email protected] to see if they have any ideas patches or tricks

Odd. I'm on X5 MU1, and SW2011 SP5.0, and I have no problems opening a solidworks file in MCam.

 

Heck, X5 even seems to open SW2012 files just fine, which is a bit unexpected. Maybe because 2012 is still in pre-release?

Well the update stopped and wont let me install the sp4 update, SW update does not

even offer the sp5 update.

 

Administrator network image was the original install so my IT guy will have to figure it out next week

because he cant log in for some reason and the owner that can, is away this week

 

I let ya know if any of this works after I get the updates.

well, SP5.0 is still Early Visibility I think, but it shouldn't make a difference if it's 5.0 or 1.0. Especially if X5 can open 2012 pre-release files.
