Even though I got it right I don't like your drawing. If, as you said, the first picture was a top and bottom view(both with solid lines), the inner square would be through the part, not only half way. I believe you were showing us the top and front views of the part.

I'm almost 39. My dad showed it to me when I was like 12. He didn't show me the answer for weeks. I've always showed it to my students, they always like it. And from the looks of the replies to this thread, I'd say it's still enjoyable.

I have an engine ear degree, but I have never seen this one before. I thought it was a word twisting (a joke) instead a mind twister at first place. I was having fun. Thank you Rekd!
