V9 on Win7 ?

If you are running nethasp.. just install V9 and go..

the graphics will be glitchy but it will be fine for opening files

People have succeeded in running V9 in Win7 "XP Mode" but it runs poorly and is barely functional.

This is not a valid solution IMO.

If you are running a USB hasp, the best solution is to build a dual boot machine with XP Pro as the 2nd OS.

as far as I know only 1 person has succeeded in getting V9 to run well on Win7/USB Hasp and he did it

by building a virtual machine..

Search off topic if you're interested..the post is about 6 weeks old.

While V9 is no longer supported, X6 can open V9 files.

V9 is in the filetype drop-down and the V9 files I've tried opened OK.

Some people have had trouble with V9 files containing V9 produced solids

and the simplest work around is to open them in X5, save then open the X5 file in X6..

Thanks for the replys.

I wanted V9 to open old stuff like ge3 to 7&8.

Every once in a while I've got to look at a real old drawing.

Maybe I'll let them keep my old box around here for that.

What about using V9 drafting version to open the drawings since it doesn't use a Hasp?

I don't have any heavy duty toolpaths on anything so those could be redone quickly.
