Haas index feedrate

Hi all,

Recently, I had to cut a shape on a cylinder and using the true 4 axis hass index. When I post out using the generic Hass 4axis post, I got all these huge feed rate (f1000. etc..)

when A axis move and the machine give me a alarm (over feed rate for the index). I had try G94, G93...but still got the alarm. I try to fix the post to change feedrate to min./deg... and so on.. but nothing work. Have to end up remove thousand of those feedrate manually to get the part done but I think it's not accurate.

Anyone out there can give me some advise? THanks.

Depending on the model of Haas machine and indexer, you should just use a normal inch/minute feedrate.

Go to the Feed page of your Control Definition and set Rotary to Unit/min.

Then look in the Setting pages on your Haas.

There will be a setting where you set the diameter of the part you are machining.

The Haas control will adjust your programed inch per minute feed rate so that

the indexing head rotates at the proper speed.

Its been 12 years since I ran a Haas and I don't remember what number that setting is.

Maybe someone with more recent experince knows what it is??

"There will be a setting where you set the diameter of the part you are machining"

Try:

Setting, General, setting 34 and look for "4th Axis Diameter"

HTH

When needed, I generally GUESS to XY Feedrates. Then when it seems your GCode is "Frozen" on a block, it means you are cutting

too slow in DPM. Which is better than the alternative ....
