Tool Change Times

Hi Everyone,

My backplot times are not adding toolchange times into the total time. Is there a place that I can add the chip to chip time for my Tool changer?

Not in MC. Just due a time study on the tool as it stops, goes up, does a tool change , and then goes down to the part in rapid. Use a short tool. This will be a average. do this with a tool that goes down close to the table.

Add that to all the tool changes in a program. THen you get to add the G81-G89 canned cycles into the mix. MC does not count the G83 pecks.

 

Some one will chime in here to a better verify program, where you can input average times for these.

If you use Cimco Edit it gives a better calculation of Machine Time.

I thought that MasterCam used to have a place for "Tool change time".? Oh Well...

Greyman, I have the Cimco editor that comes with Mastercam , where can I find the cycle time at?

Go into Nc functions menu and then toolpath statistics in the drop down.

NCPlot has it and is very good.

Alternatively, get a robodrill and don't wory about it

I tried that but diden't get anything. I suspect that our anti-virus may be blocking this feature.
