Ø Dia symbol not supported???

anytime i have a Ø symbol in my comments it posts out as an X

 

is there any way to get it to post out Ø symbols. that would be great!

Need to use the ansii character and it should post it out.

Do a search for posting ansii characters. Question is will the machine support that. I know most machines will freak out if you start putting weird characters in them. Why I never use diameter symbol or inch symbol in my tools I always use dia and in for my description.

Thanks for the info, u convinced me not to use weird symbols cause i really don't enjoy it when machines freat out!

The Fanucs I've got here with support " for inch, but I've never tried a Ø sign..

I tried it with a Haas many years ago and it didn't turn out well

Me too, it turns it into an "X" once in the control. Luckily it's in a comment

You gotta watch those weird characters in FANUC controls. Sometimes they go and sometime they dont. I'm thinking only the 30i, 31i, and 32i will support that character.
