Surface High Speed (General) not found in your operation defaults file

I'm trying to import some toolpaths from an MCX-6 file that was originally created in MCX-5. When I select all the operations and click import I get the error in the attached file:

 

'Surface High Speed (General)' not found in your operation defaults file.

 

I can't find this operation anywhere, in X5 or X6 defaults files.

 

What can I do to fix this?

You need to go into your op defaults, to edit them

 

right click, choose the path and it will then be added

I knew about editing the op defaults but I never added a toolpath to it by right clicking and selecting the path and didn't know that was there. Thanks!

 

However, I cannot find find a 'Surface High Speed (General)' toolpath in the right click menu. I've looked in MCX 5 since this part was originally created in X5 but I can't find a (General) toolpath there either.

I get those too. It could have something to do with HS toolpaths being bundled (combined) into one default ("general") file in previous versions. Now there is a seperate default for every HS toolpath...

I was getting that too. I called the re-seller and he said it was because I installed X6 as a User instead of Admin (Windows 7). I had IS come and do the install as Admin, and the message went away.

wierd, I installed as admin and get the error.

 

I delete the op defaults and replace them with the original, (i saved/backed it up right

after i installed X6) then it goes away for a while, (stop doing that now though)

But since it affects nothing, I fugetaboutit.

It affected me trying to import the ops from an MCX-5 file. It would stop importing once it hit an op that gave it a problem.

 

Maybe once I get into X6 for a bit and am no longer working with X5 files at all then it will probably cease to exist.

That happened to me this morning when i tried to do a dynamic contour.

Hi ,

I had the same problem ,

 

Here is the way how you fix it.

 

1) Select the operation to be exported ( that will be imported later)

 

2) In the parameters dialog press " Save parameters to the defaults file "

 

 

3) Export that operations

 

4) Now when you import that operation, it will look in to the saved defaults file and

 

import the exported surface high speed toolpaths (MCX file) with name as "Surface High Speed (general): category.!

I had tried the Toolpath Trim feature once, but didn't correctly set the bias point. I went back and got it working... perfect!
