Serialization

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

Would anyone happen to know how to sequentially number parts,(engrave), using a macro or other method(s), I do not know enough about Mastercam yet to even know where to begin. I am currently using sub programs for each number change. This is time consuming and taking up memory, any ideas?

Thank you,

rchipper

I have a serial engraving macro for Okuma osp controls. You enter the serial number you want to start with into a common variable and then position the tool .05 above the surface and call the macro. It engraves .25 high numbers. It is set for a 7 digit serial number. It uses a math formula at the beginning to break up the number in the common variable and put each digit, ones, tens, hundreds, etc into a local variables. At the end it adds one to the count. It could easily be converted to Fanuc if needed.

Nice,

Thank you all.

I will be writing the program for a Kitamura, Mycenter-3x mill with a Yasnac i80m control. I have never worked with macros but kind of see the logic. The serial numbers I am currently making actually consist of a, part no.,batch no., mo/yr., then the sequence no.. Would any of you have the time to help me learn, (or better understand the logic), to write and use a macro program. I will give it a shot on my own but I am on a strict timeline.

Again, thank you for helping a new guy.

cnc macro lanugage is very similar to BASIC programming language. a book on BASIC would be easily available and there are only minor syntax changes to input for CNC.

MMSonline has an Editor that writes a monthly column on Macro B. he recently (last few months) listed some online forums. look it up.
