Multi Part Operations

Hi,

 

Is there a quick method to force each operation to move from part to part on a tombstone, rather than do a sequence of operations and then translate the sequence?

So you want to program one part and have it see the rest of the parts on that face of the tombstone and do those to? if that is what you are asking Sorry NO.

I guess would it be a good idea to have a transform tab on each toolpath that is created. This would save creating loads of transform ops for various toolpaths.

In the transform toolpath menu have you tried grouping the NCI output by operation type? One transfrom operation with group by operation type will have each tool machine all the parts in the tranformation before calling up the next tool.

+1 to Brian on the op type. I would add that you should check the "Copy source operations" and the box under that for "Disable posting . . . ".

Hi Guys, I also would like to know is there any quick way to "Engrave the part nos Automatically" on the parts after finishing the machining on a VMC. This is for a small Batch production of 10 parts, I don't want to do it in engraving machine.-Sri

You can engrave part numbers easily, all day long using Create Letters and a simple contour operation with comp and lead in/lead out turned off

 

Now if you are talking about serializing numbers, no there is not a way within Mastercam,, most people use a macro to do this

I recommend trying it out in NCPlot until you get the parameters the way you want. Also it's set up for a particular shop's serial format, so you'll probably want to tweak it a bit.
