Merging tool libraries

A long time ago I made a tool library for what we use in this shop. As I trained new mastercam users, I gave them my tool library to start with and then they customized it however they wanted. But there's kind of a push for us to all use the same library so that all our speeds and feeds and names are the same.

 

Is there an easy way to merge the libraries so we don't lose any of the customization that was done individually or will we just have to choose one of the libraries and then add any tools to it that the other guys have in their library?

You could place the tool library on the network, then all workers acces and edit the same library. make a backup first

You don't say what version you're using, this works in X5:

 

1, Create a new mastercam file.

2, Open the tool manager.

3, Open each library you want & copy it's tools into the part file.

4, Once you have your tools copied, right click in the part window & select "Save tool(s) to library..."

Oops, you do say X6, what I described above should work for you.

make certain to save them to a tool database,....

it will make updating your library to the next version a bit easier,...
