ProE Creo converter

We are having troubles converting Creo files in to Masctercam X6 . When we open the files sometime it comes in as a solid and other times it wants to convert it to surfaces and only some of the surfaces are there. We have the converter from Mastercam. Our ProE guy says it's a Mastercam problem. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Thanks for your input.

I'm not sure about the converter, but I import .stp models from Pro/e everyday, and EVERY time I have a model issue, I go back to the solid within Pro/e and zoom on the problem areas and ALMOST always discover gaps in the model or intersecting faces. I'm sorry, but your Pro/e guy is WRONG.... Good luck getting a stubborn engineer to admit to this. In most cases, I can fix the problem areas in Pro/e.

Greg,

When the ProE/Creo importer in Mastercam refuses to make a solid out of an incoming body, it will be because we've detected an issue with at least one of the faces, loops, and edges that define the solid - i.e. the underlying topology that sews it together cleanly.

I'd be happy to take some time to look at a couple .PRTs and look at them in both ProE and Mastercam to see if I can help you out.
