Changing setting perameters permanently

Crazy^Millman gave me the answer I need to set my wire frame settings permanently. (Answer) = line 8023

How Can I set my setting so that I don't see cutter paths when I open up my files?

You need to go into the config and make the change there if you are talking about under the solid settings? If not talking about there then please be more specific so we can help you pinpoint what you are looking to do.

I do relies I have to go into config......

My wire frame hidden lines used to be visable now it defaults to no hidden lines - I would like to set it at "dimmed wire frame"

Here is what I got from QC about this very question sometime ago. Thank Ryan in QC for the answer.

 

The entry is 8023. Hidden flags? "0" = "On" and "1" = "Off"

Open up the mcamx.config inside of the C:\Users\<your name>\Documents\my mcamx7\CONFIG folder file in a text editor. Then search for that line as you can see here this section shows [sOLIDS] then from there you make the change on this line shown save the file and now it will be permanent. I am thinking there will be something added for this down the road, just what I got when I asked this very question to qc@mastercam and was passing that back on to you. Hopefully that will be help for you. If working in Metric would need to do the same thing for the mcamxm.config to have it do the same behavior.

+1 on this one ... but I gotta ask .. where did you get the text values ? Do you have the MCam Secret decoder ring ?

I spelled out how to get to them in the answer. Open up the mcamx.config file with a text editor and you too can decode like me.

so .... I open my config file, and it says "8000. Text unavailable? y" .... and to find what #8000 refers to, is in your answer ?

My answer was not for that line I was showing the section of the config to look to for the 8023 line. Be careful you start messing with the .config file and you can monkey things up real quick. If you do you can always close down Mastercam erase the mcamx.config and it will make a new one. I will share what I am allowed to share and that is what I have done.

For toolpaths, you can set everything up the way you like it, say, shading turned on, toolpaths turned off (ALT+T), etc...

 

Then go to settings > Configuration and just save your configuration.
