Tread forming taping

coolant concentration needs to be strong in 6061. no sense in pecking since there is virtually no chip.

 

you'll love it once dial in. 3-4 time the speed of conventional taps.

 

Check mfger tap hole size recommendations. a few thou on the minor can be the difference between piles of broken taps or none at all.

Yeah .. always check the minor diameter is right before running the tap through when using form taps.. general rule of thumb is .001" on diameter before forming will be about .003" after forming.. so getting the minor right from drilling is critical when form tapping..
