Legacy, flowline path, add holder

In X7, you need to launch the separate "Tool Manager" application. The help file has some good explanations of building a Tool Database, a Holder Database, and an Assembly database.

Once you've got Tool and Holders, you can drag-and-drop them on a new assembly. By the way, you can also open multiple copies of the Tool Manager, and drag-and-drop tools or holders between different databases.

I'd recommend trying to catch the Webinar that Aaron did a little while back on using the Tool Manager application. You'll find a lot of good information in that video.

Hope that helps,

Colin

Rickster - The webinar is talked about here: http://www.emastercam.com/board/index.php?showtopic=72905&hl=webinar. You can watch it at that link.. The web guy is restructuring the part of the site that it was hosted on, but it should be back up shortly at mastercam.com > support >tutorial videos soon.

There's no way that I know of to bring in an assembly into a legacy toolpath with X6, you'd have to draw the whole thing as a custom tool. In fact, in some of those legacy toolpaths that didn't have the new holder dialogs, it was a pain to get it into X7. That's been addressed for MU1, and you can now select assemblies, so you'll be able to get it as soon as MU1 is out.

Are they going to show up in Active Reports tool lists as well? Kinda tired of making fake toolpaths and ghosting them just to get the output I need.

GMS1 - That's not in MU1, but I know it's on the radar for X8.

If you could do me a favor, please shoot an email over to [email protected] and explain in detail what you'd like to see from your report.. If you could screen-shot an existing report and paint/photoshop in graphics or whatnot, that would be even better. The more detail that can be handed to developers, the faster they can move..

Thanks.
