I have done both with good results really comes down to how you want to control the process. With what you did will always be on center with Multiaxis you then get the control of leading edge as part of the process. The load on the tool like you did will be I think good since you have a nice step over and using a bull endmill. Key will be center cutting ability of the tool. I Always try use a Radius tool helps with tool life. You are well on your way to learning how to use them. Next trick would be taking that same toolpath and using convert to 5 axis and then using toolaxis control to allow for the place where you want contact, but then next issue is not getting the backside to hit your part where trial and error comes in to get it all set up correctly.
