Tool Library update from X6 to X7

I am finally updating from X6 to X7. I have all my files updated except for my tool libraries (.tooldb). When I run update folder to update the tool libraries the small window opens up in the lower right corner then closes. The files did not get updated. I was able to do this with X7 SP1 but then was told to hold off on the upgrade. I now need to have everything updated to X7 by the first of the year. I uninstalled X7 then did a fresh install of X7 MU1 with the hotfix.

Thanks for the reply Tony. My files in X6 are .tooldb. When I use the update folder option, the file dates do not change and when I try to open them with the tool manager, I get the following error message.

"DATABASE VERSIONING ERROR--Database selected is at an earlier version of .tooldb! Update selected database by opening in Mastercam."

I got one .tooldb file to open in the tool manager by opening X7 selecting a machine type then in the operations manager under properties files tool library open (I selected one .tooldb) then selected edit then selected the green check mark then I could open it in the tool manger. I have several tool libraries. Is there an easier way of converting these files?

Tony, I have tried many combinations of update folder (even the one you show) and the only ones that get updated are the .tools-6 files. The .tooldb files do not up date. The only thing I got from my reseller is to move the files to my desktop and use update folder and save the new files where I want them. It did save them where I wanted them but they were not updated.

Hertz, these files I am trying to convert are the ones I use in X6.

Hopefully someone will have the answer on Monday. If all else fails, I can open and edit each one individually from inside mastercam since I found that that will work.

Thanks for the replies.

Thad, I have been using .tooldb in X6 since December 2012. That is when the .tool-6 files got corrupted so I updated them to the .tooldb format and have not had any issues since. As I stated in my first post, I was able to convert these files before and now that I am going to X7, for some reason the update folder is not working on the .tooldb files. All other files converted fine.

I'm not convinced that .tooldb is an "updated" file type. I think something is hosed on your system.

.tools-6 is the CORRECT extension for a MC tool library in version X6. Anything other than that...it may work, but it's not right.

Wrong..

I have X6 and my tool library files are not tools-6. they are in fact tooldb

Tools-6 I believe is the updated file from previous versions. When I did a file update with my tool libraries, they added the -6 and also did the same from x4 with the -5. I had all 3 types in my folder until I had recently done a fresh install of X6. Now they are tooldb files.
