Mitsubishi Controls

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a little help with modifying my post to "Tap' for a Mitsubishi control (Yes I know, was not my choice) and their build date was in 1996.

Is there a way to modify the post within Mastercam to get the desired output? I must manually edit tap cycles for three machines, any help is greatly appreciated. I have tried my reseller, although he is not sure how to get these results.

Sample...

Normal Haas/Fanuc 10-32 tap cycle

X3.07 Y-.187 S400 M3

G43 H5 Z1. M8

G84 G98 Z-.6 R.06 F12.5

Our Mitsubishi 10-32 tap cycle

X3.07 Y-.187 S400 M3

G43 H5 Z1. M8

G84 G98 Z-.6 R.06 E32 , R1 <<< Threads Per Inch / Rigid tap

Thank you in advance

k...I will take a rough stab here...quick & dirty...

find this (depending on what post you are using, it could vary, this is based on the generic 3ax fanuc)

fmt "F" 2 pitch #Tap pitch (units per thread)

change to this

fmt "E" 4 pitch #Tap pitch (units per thread)

Then go to your tapping cycle in your post (ptap$)

find this

else, pitch = 1/n_tap_thds$

change to this

else, pitch = n_tap_thds$

Then, finally, find this in the ptap$....

pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout,
 prdrlout, *pitch, !feed, strcantext, e$

and make it this....

pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrlref, *sgdrill, pxout, pyout, pfzout,
 prdrlout, *pitch, "R1", strcantext, e$

like I said, quick & dirty....

There is not a story other than what I had asked for above. They have been very helpful with repairing the bad stuff I inherited.

Then go to your tapping cycle in your post (ptap$)

find this

else, pitch = 1/n_tap_thds$

change to this

else, pitch = n_tap_thds$

I cannot find this line in ptap$ as E value now is outputting "E0"

I have ptap$ #Canned Tap Cycle

pdrlcommonb

pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, *sgdrlref, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout,

prdrlout, *pitch, "R1" strcantext, e$

pcom_movea

Thanks in advance.

There are so many different flavors of posts out there...the example I gave you was based on the generic 3ax fanuc. since you are getting an "E0" output you are way close.

pdrlcommonb

pitch = n_tap_thds$

pcan1, pbld, n$, *sgdrill, *sgdrlref, pxout, pyout, pfzout, pcout,

prdrlout, *pitch, "R1" strcantext, e$

pcom_movea

getting it to work with a metric tap....is gonna be something different
