May somebody help me with cutting pocket tool jump up after avery depth of cut.

Try ramp helix and off not luck.

I want tool to stay on same z from last cut, then move X,Y, to next position for starting next depth of cut.

Maybe I Am doing something wrong, or missing some check boxes.

Keep tool down check box not helping.

Thanks!

Hi Lechu (Leszek?)

"keep tool down" is set in two places: "finishing" and "depth cuts". Simple settings really.

Can you share the file?

Lechu do you have finish pocket turned on for the operation? If so then look at your lead in/out settings and see what they are set to. Mastercam does what it is told and if you have perpendicular entry for your lead in and out then I would expect to see what you are seeing. Also another place to look is your entry method. What do you have that set at for the operation?

Crazy^Millman

The finish is off I just rough cut 1" by 2" pocket ½ dip 1/4 per pas depth tool jumps above part, or above last depth of cut.

Tthis is one of mastercam ups I think.

This is maybe ok in big pockets, but small You don't need tool to jump above last cut floor, just movement to next starting position for plunge, ramp, helix, etc. is ok.

Eliminate ton of garbage from program.

Thanks!

See problem is the 1st time one of the those programs scraps a part people will be say why was it not safe. What you consider garbage cuts a god part yes or no? I say yes and again Mastercam can do just about anything you want to make a part, but sometimes you get code that if done by hand you may never do, but it has to be safe 1st and for that I will take what is safe and makes a good part. Not being a Fanboi just being practical if you would not putting up a sample file then I believe someone would be willing to see if they can help you get dialed down to the level you find acceptable.

Have a great night.
