The benifits of upgrading to V8 mill have been discussed on other threads.

Not much has been posted about v8 lathe.

It is an entirely new program compared to

v7. The V7 lathe module is not even on the same planet when compared to the new V8.1

Biss03 do you do any 3D surface work at all?

if so Version 8. would be one of the best things you could do..

think about how nice it is to work on a pocket program in ver7 and then decide to make a change say like moveing the home postion, you just move it and say "Regen Toolpath"

and you are ready to post again.

but try that with a surfaceing or 5Axis & you have to reprogram the hole thing even if you just want to change the tool size you CANT..

but in ver8 you can do it with all toolpaths.

this is the biggest deal for most.

there are more.

but this one alone on 3D & 5axis toolpaths has saved me tones of time and effort..

hope this helps smile.gif
