changing colors

Why is it that when I move surfaces or lines to a different level or even just translate them on the screen they change colors?

That's the way it's supposed to work so you can keep track of what you just changed. If you don't like it you can change the color of translated geometry to match your default color. Do it through settings > customize

I can't duplicate this.

 

At first, it sounded like you have the EA Manager active and it's changing colors when moving to a different layer...but that doesn't make sense when just translating.

If I change the colors of a set of enitites  and then move them either to a different level or just translate them they change back to the defalut colors.

I played around with this a little more and still can't reproduce this.

where do I change the setting for default colors when  I open a new solidworks file?   I recently changed that so every file I open  comes in the surfaces one color and wire frame a different color.  I think it started acting up around that time but I do not remember where that setting was.  I wanted to put it back to the default setting and see if it changed anything.

ok i found it. I turned entity attribute manager off and now it does not change colors when I move things.  I guess I will just leave it  off go back to changing colors everytime I open a new part file.
