lead-in/lead-out

does anyone no how to modify a pst file, so that the post, does not post, the lead-in/lead-out lines?would only like to see the final x & y moves without, the extra lines.trying to save memory space in the machines.plus set-ups will go a lot faster. any help is appreciated.

I dont know how you would go about turning it off in the post, but if you dont want the lead in lead out, just unselect the lead in lead out button. Then regenerate and repost your program.

well i want to use the lead-in/lead-out.I just don't want to post unwanted lines.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you give an example of the unwanted lines?

Filter your toolpath. This will remove the unwanted lines from the finished NC file

I have a similar problem: When I use contour and I want a lead out that is a strait line tangent to the line. I am toolpathing for ex. a simple cut across the edge of a part to square one end. If I use the lead out in the contour menu what I get is a move to the edge of the part and then it gives me another move that is the lead out distance past the part. The two points are on the same line so why does it post out this way? If I don't use the lead out then it never cancels cutter comp. I am using 7.2 and I don't have a filter check box in the contour menu.

Not sure if its the "right" way of doing it, but alot of times I just extend the start and end line and use a .05 perp lead in/out to get comp on.

This has been something that has been bothering me too but I never knew there was a way to get rid of those extra lines.

I tried playing with the filter command but the lines are still in the NC code. Any suggestions or hints of what settings to use.

In ver 7 go to nc utilities and use filter.

It's the same thing except it rewrites the NCI file. Also most machines need a feed move to cancel cutter comp on so some times this is not good to use.

i believe there is away to modify the pxout & pyout in the post to do this.That's what my mastercam dealer told me.just wondering if anyone has done it , yet?
