G19 Problems

I am engraving letters that were rolled over an arc. My post is outputting G19 arc moves in a couple of spots and our machine controller is having a hard time with it. My question is, is there an easy way to output small linier moves instead of the arc moves?

Yes....Turn off the arc filters and it will only output lines. There are several ways to do this.

 

One is to right click on the toolpath in OPS and go to Options/Filter.....and turn them off and regen. It should do it real fast.

 

The other way is to go to para page and turn them off there, but this will require a total regen.

I went to options/filter and made sure "create arcs in" was not checked in all three spots, regened and posted only to get the same results.

I converted my arcs to splines and it worked fine. It posted out only linier moves.

I tried that but I dont think it is a helix arc. It had no effect on any of those options. Changing arcs to splines was a quick fix to get me up and running. Thanks

Did you check the settings on the Screen config for the Arc filter they might be over riding the one you are using in the operations.

Watch out for for filter settings.

I may be wrong but in my opinion V9 filter

creates arcs in yz or xz and fails to let MC know about the arc axis change

 

Without knowing this g18 or g19 change was sent by the filter your next arc may have a deeper meaning than you intended.

 

Most of us disable xz and yz arcs in the filter to avoid suprise deductions on payday.
