shade settings in X8

How do I get to the "shade settings" in X8.

Thanks for the quick reply, but that's not what I'm looking for. X7 had an icon for "shade settings" that when opened had options for, hide hidden lines, show dashed edges, etc. I had an icon for it. But I can't find it in X8. It talks about in "help" but I can't find it.

 

Click on settings, configuration, shading, help, field definitions, hidden edge dim % to see what I'm referring to.

Oh I see. I had to open up X7 to see what it used to look like. If I remember correctly they removed that functionality because it interfered with the new solid shading system. Or something. Same reason they removed the viewports option. Either way, those options are gone.

I can't get my shade settings to stick for some reason. I change the lighting setting, click apply, click yes, exit and restart Mastercam, and the settings revert back to the default lighting settings...

if you look for the shading toolbar (a solid blue globe) look for a small dropdown arrow, you have options for outline shaded or just shaded (darkens the edges) you will also have a drop down under the wireframe globe for controlling hidden wireframe, etc.
