5th axis goofing

So im just messing around, trying to learn some more multiaxis techniques...

 

Was looking for some suggestions on getting an even flow of machining lines on this part.  Mainly cleaning up the green surfaces smoothly.

 

I was needing a really consistent surface finish on this part so that is where the thought started.  I ended up doing this part 3+2 but was sitting at home bored today, trying to make some multiaxis stuff work again...no luck lol.

 

Any suggestions?

Amazing what a little nudge in the right direction will do. That really clears some things up for me.

 

Off to tinker with it some more...

To clean the green area use 5 axes flow line rib cut axis control pattern surface

I'm really starting to see all the uses for this toolpath now. Even 3 axis stuff!

Also pay attention to the Retracts and the setting of them for the different angles you are working in. You also have full tool axis control like the other toolpaths so if you want to make some vectors to clear clamps and such you can.
