SW to MC

When opening MC thru solid works I noticed the c-hook mcutil does not load,which is my defalt chook at startup. anyone know Y

The .cfg that you created WILL NOT LOAD using the direct translation.

 

You need to set the default MILL.CFG to your default, then it will work!

 

I had the same problem, that is the cure that I was told, and it worked for me.

MayDay, ToolFab are you either of you running SW2004? Direct converter worked great in SW2003. I havent been able to get it to work with SW2004.

I have it installed but havent used it yet. we just upgraded to SW2004 but it is not loaded on the server yet so I have not tried it. as of yet I have not had a customer send me 2004 either

Tony, download the SW-MCDirect.exe file, this will put the Mastercam tab in SW. Give me some time, I will put up a screen shot so you can see what it does.

Toolfab here is my problem.

 

MC direct from SW2004 launches MasterCam , then I receive and error message ‘Cannot Find Parasolid Data in SolidWorks file” hit OK then MC asks to “Enter the name of a MasterCam File to Import Toolpath operations from (or hit Cancel for none)”. At the end MC file is empty. Then when I Close SW I get an unhandled termination error.

 

I receive the same error in MC “Cannot Find Parasolid Data in SolidWorks file” if I try to open the SLDPRT file thru File Converters Parasolid while the file is active in SW.

John, not sure in the 04 converter but if your SW file is an assembly you will prolly want to export it out of SW as a parasolid. dont know if thats your problem

I got the sw2004 converter for mastercam from my dealer and installed, but still can't open the solidworks 2004 file directly, am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance.

If the direct conversion is not working, try to save the cartoon as a parasolid, .x_t

 

This may help, then you go into MC and file/convert/parasolid

 

This may help! I have had the "cannot find parasolid" message, it has to do with the way its drawn.

I fined that if the file is open in solidworks mastercam can't find the parisolid data. close solidworks and I haven't any trouble.
