CANNED CYCLE

hi

i have a problem when running a canned cycle in mastercam G71 or G72

our fanuc oi  lathe make an error with G42 , G41

when i analyse the program , i notice that radius compensation is inside the canned cycle.

when programming manually i always put the g42 ang G40 outside the canned cycle

how can i repair that .

is there a solution to output the canned cycle with compensation putside the canned bloc?

other question

if i have to work with radius compensation shoul i put the radius in geometry offset , or in both geometriy offset and wear offset?

when working with wear , shoul i put the radius in geometry offset and wear offset or put zero

pleaze i need your help

"if i have to work with radius compensation shoul i put the radius in geometry offset , or in both geometriy offset and wear offset?"

^I use only geometry... but it shouldn't matter because both offsets are added together to compute the toolpath.

Comp should work fine inside the canned cycle... the error is likely something else.

Can you post your code?

is there any problem to put a retract of R=0.5, while the tool radius is 0.8?

i changed it to r=1 and  get the same eror

That code looks good to me... what exactly is the alarm you are getting?

Also, what kind of machine?

How many axis is it?

sorry for the delay

i work with fanuc oi

2 axis lathe

the error is a text mensioning G41 and 42,

i want to ask you , if i make a retract of r=0.5, the radius compensation works well? or should i increase the distance
